Delight

I delight to do Your will. If I achieved all of my earthly goals and attained status and wealth but did not do Your will, my life would be meaningless. Father, help me to do Your will. Jesus said that He did everything You called Him to do when He prayed to You— “I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given me to do.” (John 17:4). Whenever I read that, I’m filled with so much joy. Even my elder brother Jesus knew the importance of doing Your will. They wanted Him to be many things, but He refused because He knew what You planned for Him to do.

Imagine a life where I’m not pulled in many different directions because I’m in tune with the One who made me and know what He’s called me to. What a glorious life that would be?

“I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.” (Psalm 40:8)
